Soul Stage Act 3 Action Support Clear Type Part 2 [Final]

Realizing the dream scene

A look at how Soul Stage Act 3 Action Support Clear Type can be used on Gundam figure and model kits in this posting.

HCM-Pro Gundam Exia.

A very small action figure it is, so just a clamp to the leg would do. Pretty much like Revoltech Fraulein Soryu Asuka Langley shown in the previous posting.

Tons of mid-air action poses with the display stand.

Very useful in showing the Funnels of HGUC Nu Gundam as well. ^^

Definitely better than Action Display 1 or 2 meant for Gunplas, since the joints can be adjusted freely, the length or the stand can be configured with more or fewer segments, and the clips are a lot more versatile than the various mount rack connectors on Action Display 1 or 2.

Can be used to display a completed kit, like MG Unicorn Gundam in this example.

For static display, all the joints and stands are sort of "wasted" though. ^^;

Can be used to display certain component when reviewing the kit, but I prefer the even simpler paper clips that I used all this while though. ^^

Very suitable to display smaller items, like this Core Fighter from HGUC Gundam RX-78-2, since Action Display Base 2 would seem too large as compared to the actual kit.

Having three stands on a single base allows one to realize this scene featuring HGUC Gundam RX-78-2. ^^

It's a scene I saw in a hobby magazine many years ago, and it was an illustration showing how the three components of Gundam RX-78-2 dock in mid air. I always wanted to try something like that with a display stand. Soul Stage Act 3 Action Support Clear Type turns out to be just the right tool for this purpose. ^^ Also, because it's in clear color, it allows the focus to be on the item it's displaying as well. The view is another bonus benefit you can say.

After the release of Act 3, I think Tamashii Nation revised the design and separated the categories of action figure that the display base is supposed to be for into human-type and mecha-type, instead of having just one set for all, which is Act 3. Act 4 Human Support Type is pretty much Act 3 with some changes to the content and more color choices, meant for human-type action figure (as the name clearly suggests), while Act 5 Action Support Type for Mechanics, with larger base and larger clip base and stands is for mecha-type action figures, which are generally larger and heavier, so strong stands and joints are definitely needed to support their poses.

(Right) Soul Act 5 Action Support Type for Mechanics Cosmic Blue Ver.
Images are from this and this previous posting.

The separation into Act 4 and Act 5 pretty much sums up my opinion for Act 3. It's very good for human-type action figures like Figma and Revoltech Fraulein, but for larger mecha figures, the volume and weight are big (literally ^^;) issues for the joints to handle.

Act 5 (just the clear type) will be reissued in June this year. Robot Damashii and other mecha-type action figure collectors may be interested to get that to give more flexibility to display those figures. ^^

How well do the moving joints support slightly heavier figures? Are they pretty tight?

Any insight for me on the above comment?

Well I bought one anyway, since I didn't seem to be able to rely on a comment from you, and sure enough, waste of money. Thanks for your help.
