MG Char's Gelgoog Ver. 2.0 Part 13

Compensation for the limited knee articulation?

Moving on to the upper body of MG Char's Gelgoog Ver. 2.0 after the previous posting. ^^


Inner frame parts for the body.


The pilot figure of Char inside the cockpit. ^^


With a bit of help (camera flash), the monitors and panels made of foil stickers (XD) on the walls inside the cockpit can be seen.


Major components of the body's inner frame.


The cockpit needs to be fitted into the abdomen to snap it to the hinge joint in there.


The pins to seal a plate onto the back turn out to look like screws when the component is completed. The design is really simple but effective. ^^



Done for the body's inner frame.


Extensive vent details all around the body. ^^


Without the multiple fins between it and the shoulder armor, the shoulder joint has very flexible vertical ...


... and horizontal articulation range.


The abdomen's hinge joint gives the body very wide forward/backward tilt.


With the arms and shoulder armors' inner frame completed in Part 11, plus four fins that will sit between the shoulder joints and the armor parts.


Just four parts in total, but the amount of repetitive panel lining work for them is still fresh in my memory. ^^;


Not shown in the image above, (for each side of the shoulders) one fin with tab will go in first to form the base ...


... followed by two individual fins, ...


... and another one which is connected to the shoulder armor's inner frame to complete the assembly.

And with the lower body completed in the previous posting, only the head remains now. ^^

Linked movement between the neck's movement and the mono-eye camera's rotation, which is completely the same as the design that was first introduced on MG Zaku II Ver. 2.0.

Fitted onto the upper body.


The linked movement isn't working at the moment, since there's nothing to hold the entire neck joint from moving together with the head. The gear inside isn't triggered at all, so no movement for the mono-eye camera. ^^;


The waist has very wide horizontal ...


... and vertical movement range.



ROAR~ XD

With very few parts around the abdomen and waist to obstruct their movements, their articulation is exceptionally wide. Similar design can be found on MG Zaku II Ver. 2.0 as well, but poor Zaku which is still very much a standard MS in terms of its size has limitation on how much its abdomen and waist articulation can go. ^^; Such restriction is not available on Gelgoog though, and I'm really glad that the designer took advantage of that feature (or lack of to be exact) and gave it above average articulation range. While the knee joint doesn't move a lot, having such great articulation for the upper body is a consolation I suppose. ^^

Or maybe it's still not enough to compensate for the knee joint? ^^;

Gelgoog is supposedly a Zeon MS on par with the "White Devil". I don't think the (fictitious) MS developer bothered about the size for such comparison though. XD
