HG 1/144 Sergei's Tieren Taozi Part 5

Adding a bear to the shoulder

Continuation of HG 1/144 Sergei's Tieren Taozi's assembly after the previous posting. ^^

Parts of the body.

Unfortunately, the foil sticker pieces for the cockpit sensors applied in Part 2 have been completely covered up by the chest armor. ^^;

Foil stickers are used for the orange chest parts and sensors (?) above the shoulders.

Separable components of the body before the final assembly.

The body unit is completed.

With the arms from the previous posting.

Done for the upper body.

Even with the shoulder shields retracted, the upper body still has an expansive width of about 18cm. ^^

With the lower body attached, only the head remains now before the entire model is completed. ^^

Just like its Space Commander type brethren, there are only four parts for the head.

Two separable components for the head.
The black part with two fixed mono-eye cameras is sandwiched between the helmet parts, revealing the eye and its "track". ^^

The head's assembly onto the neck area is exactly the same as that of the Ground Type and Space Commander type.

The mono-eye camera can be turned. ^^

All done for HG 1/144 Sergei's Tieren Taozi. ^^

To make this Tieren unit explicitly belonging to Sergei, his special Russian Bear marking can be applied. I remember having spare clear sticker sheet featuring such emblem from the work on the Space Commander type, but I couldn't locate it at all after many search attempts. ^^; It's most probably hiding somewhere in my spare sticker collection, eluding my attempts to use it. and then one day it'll pop out to laugh at me when I've finished all my Tieren model kits. ^^; This had happened to me on many occasions with other objects (unfortunately), a small spare clear sticker sheet is now added to the list of annoying missing thing just when you most wanted it. ^^;

Never mind, I had an alternate solution.

Merchandise seal of "Gundam Double O".

Gundam Decal No. 47 for Gundam Double O Set 2, which features almost entirely emblems for Union, Human Reform League and AEU, plus unit numbering for all their MSs. Released in March 2008 when the TV series of "Gundam Double O" was still in its first season, unit numbering for this Tieren variation is obviously (and unfortunately) not included. ^^; Only the Russian Bear emblem and some generic numbering would be useful to this last-minute effort then. ^^;

Full view of the entire decal sheet.

The four bear emblems seem like they are straight from the Space Commander type's clear sticker sheet. ^^

Recommendation on where the decals can be applied on other "Gundam Double O" model kits, as well as display bases are shown behind the back cover.

A large Russian Bear emblem for one shoulder shield, and a generic "01" numbering on the other shield.
A special solution is used to make the decals adhere to the curvy surface of the shields.^^

The solution used is this one: Mr. Mark Softer. ^^
Its main function is to help decals settle in sunken areas or uneven surfaces, which is what I wanted for the bear emblem.
Its close brother, Mr. Mark Setter shown in the review of HGUC Sazabi for the model's Neo Zeon emblem on the shield is meant as adhesive for decals.

With the shields reattached onto their joints after the decals have dried. ^^

More images and some action poses of this completed model in the next posting. ^^

The HGUC Sazabi link leads to the HG Exia review. Might want to edit that.
