Keropla God Keron Part 18

Black, red, white, black, red, white ...

Moving on to more detailing work for Keropla God Keron's Dororo Robo Mk-II after the previous posting. ^^

All eight parts for the forearm (left) and legs are part of the main focus in this batch of work. ^^

All the parts are panel lined first using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) and normal panel liner.

The grid patterned sections on all eight parts are painted using Gaia Color 022 Semi Gloss Black. Stickers are given for these parts, but since I painted the same parts on the cockpit in Part 16, doing the same on these eight parts would give them a more consistent overall feel.

The shuriken emblems on the forearm parts are painted red using Gundam Marker Red.

With excessive red and black paints scratched away using a knife.

A small sunken area right behind the elbow is painted black using normal marker to give it a greater sense of depth.

The cross section between the forearm parts painted black just now is painted using black normal marker to make sure that any split, however small it might be between the parts won't give away the light blue base color.

The vent area in front of the wrists is painted black using normal marker.

Test fitting the parts to see how the wrist vents would look like when assembled.

For the leg parts, a small nozzle-like design deep inside the knee joint area is painted black using normal marker.
Later I discovered that the swivel knee joint is going to completely cover up that painted area, so it's actually a pointless effort. ^^;

(Left) Excessive black paints on the leg parts is scratched away using a knife.
(Right) Just like the forearm parts shown earlier on, the cross section between the leg parts is painted black as well for the same aforementioned purpose.

The shoulder parts are another major focus of this posting.
Just four light blue parts for the two shoulders, but as shown in the box side image, the top and bottom areas on the parts are supposedly white. ^^;

(Left) All the parts are panel lined first.
(Right) The targeted top and bottom areas are painted using White Surfacer from Mr. Hobby, and then Mr. Color No. 1 White Gloss.

After the paint has dried, excessive white paint on the parts is been scratched away using a knife. Panel lines are then added/reapplied.

Like the two on the forearm parts, the vent areas beneath the shoulders are painted black using normal marker.

Painted black for the "borders" between connecting parts so that the lines would be very obvious when assembled.

Some other line details on the parts are treated as well.

Simple panel lining for the some of the other arm parts. These are actually polycaps for the joints.

Not done with all the arm and leg parts yet actually, as the giants drills to be fitted on top the shoulders, the feet and weapons still remain on the list of parts to be details in this kit. ^^;
