Nendoroid Hatsune Miku Absolute HMO Edition Part 2

Hatsune Miku Absolute Movable Edition

More images of Nendoroid Hatsune Miku Absolute HMO Edition after the introduction in the previous posting. ^^

Closeups on the details:

Not merely a costume swap, this HMO version is a completely different depiction of the character in my opinion. When compared to the first "official" version, the HMO version looks like Miku when she was much younger. ^^ There's no short supply of cuteness between the two, but this version has an added sense of childishness in my opinion. ^^

Comparing to the first Nendoroid release again, there isn't a lot of details on the HMO version it seems. That's not a big issue to me, because her list of accessories and articulation design are more than enough to compensate for the lack of details. By the way, the details are just enough I think. The number "01" on the left upper arm, one of Miku's signature features is there. Other details like gradient paint work for the hair, clear pink stripe on the squarish "hairbands", clear folds on her dress are all very nicely done. ^^ My favorite of them all is the zigzag patterns on a stripe hanging on the left side of her waist.

It almost looks like a "random" accessories fixed to her dress. ^^; It's very tiny and is only located on the left side of the dress, but it's so well painted it becomes a highlight of Miku's costume to me. ^^ There aren't too many colors on the whole costume, but it looks very cohesive instead of color scheme, especially when it's matched with Miku's hair. ^^

On the subject of her hair, Miku's signature pigtails are mighty useful as support stands for the figure. XD Normally for Nendoroid figures, they must be supported by their display base for all poses. Apparently Miku is able to break away from that "traditional" restriction with her massive pigtails. XD

A look at the articulation design:

Already having a lot of fun with the figure without any option part used. ^^

The usual forward/backward and side-to-side bends for the head via the Nendoroid neck joint.

The small lock of hair on top of Miku's head can be angled differently.

Being very "significant" parts on Miku (XD), each pigtail is connected to the head using a Nendoroid joint, which allow it to bend up and down, ...

... swing forward and backward, ...

... and swivel at the base to change its view.

Hinge joint inside a lock of hair at the end of the pigtail allows it be tilted upward.

The Nendoroid joint molded in the same color as the hair.

Forward/backward bend for the body.

Side-to-side bend is very easy for the waist as well. ^^

The swivel-hinge combination of the shoulder joint allows the arms to be lifted/lowered.

The swivel part of the aforementioned joint allows the the shoulder to swing forward/backward.

Swivel joints allows the upper arm and forearm to be turned.
For the upper arm, the joint is located between the upper arm and the sleeve, so it's not visible in any pose. ^^ For the forearm however, the cut is very obvious, but due its part-swapping gimmick, I don't think there's any way to not have the joint being so obviously visible. ^^;

Rather limited elbow bend.

Ball-type joints for the hips allow a wide range of movements for the legs. ^^

Hinge joint for the knees. ^^
Limited in its articulation range, but it's more than enough for such a small figure with such short legs. XD

For a Nendoroid figure, the joint design is nothing short of amazing. ^^ I feel like I'm describing a normal scale action figure when going through the various joints on Miku just now. ^^ I'm pretty sure the joint design is just about the same as Saber Super Movable Edition, but it's still pretty crazy to see such an "unconventional" Nendoroid figure that can move so well. ^^ Those joints would be might helpful in expressing the cuteness and activeness of the character no doubt, especially for this extra cheerful HMO version. ^^

A look at the long list of accessories included with this Nendoroid figure in the next posting. ^^
