HGUC Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode] Part 4

When unsure, check the big one

More repetitive work of cleaning off excessive panel liner paint from parts of HGUC Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode] after the previous posting. ^^

Parts of the arms.

Parts of the skirt armor.

Even though there are very little details behind the parts, panel lines are applied using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Gray).

The connected front skirt armor joints are split so that each piece can move independently on the completed model.

The vent areas on the four side and rear skirt armor parts are painted black using normal panel liner.

Much like the shield parts in Part 2, the two pegs on each of the side skirt armors are painted gray using Gundam Marker to make them look cohesive when assembled with the vent part later on.

Normal panel liner is used to detail these gray parts for the body.

These blue parts for the backpack are panel lined using normal panel liner as well.

Excessive panel liner paint on the body parts is wiped off using cotton swab soaked in enamel thinner.

The left and right splits can be seen clearly on the rear body part. The sunken areas inside the splits shouldn't be in total white I believe, but what colors are they supposed to be in anyway? ^^;

Best way to find out the exact color needed is to have a look at the splits on the Master Grade Ver. Ka kit. ^^

The "secret" is out: top segments - Psycho Frame, lower segments - gray. ^^

The lower gray segments extend all the way till the edge of the rear body part.

On a side note regarding the shoulder piece, quite a large chunk of part on its back should remain as the Psycho Frame and not white as shown in the manual actually. ^^;

(Left) Painted the top segments on the rear body part using Gaia Color 102 Fluorescent Pink
(Right) Painted the lower segments using Tamiya Color Acrylic Paint Mini XF-53 Neutral Grey.

(Left) With excessive paint scratched away using a knife.
(Right) Following the design as seen on the Master Grade Ver. Ka kit, the gray segments at the bottom edge of the part are painted as well.

Panel lined all the head parts
Excessive panel liner paint will be wiped off using cotton swab soaked with enamel thinner.

Pin vise with 0.4mm drill bit is used to create the two Vulcan turrets on the helmet parts. ^^

Test fitting the parts to see how the helmet would look like when it's assembled. ^^

Cleanup on the face part reveals the super tiny vents. ^^
I will keep the face part on the clear red part until the final assembly as a mean to prevent losing the former. ^^;

And just like that, the work on this kit is all done. ^^ As compared to the Unicorn Mode, the entire work is actually simpler, despite having higher part count. ^^ One of the reasons for that feeling is having to reapply a lot of the same treatment learned from the work on the Unicorn Mode instead of having to think of new ways, as mentioned in Part 2. Another reason is the higher part count. ^^ The splits between separate parts on the kit can be seen as panel lines that don't need any detailing anymore. Looking back at the Unicorn Mode, many of its parts are in plain white and require a lot of panel lines to realize their details. Among all the things reapplied from that kit onto this one, the need for a lot of detailing is fortunately not one of them. ^^

As usual, there'll be a bit of offset time between now and when I revisit all the parts again for the final assembly. ^^

Regarding the shoulder sensors, keep in mind the design did undergo some small changes between the Ver.Ka MG and the OVA official, so those are largely white now.
Also, I'm surprised you didn't paint the beam magnum's magazine...
