HG 1/144 Mr. Bushido's Ahead Part 3

Where did all the black parts come from?

More detailing work for HG 1/144 Mr. Bushido's Ahead after the previous posting. ^^

Even though I was prepared for the need to paint certain parts magenta and gold as shown in the previous posting, I didn't expect this kit to be missing black for many of its parts. ^^ Luckily for me, black being an absolute color is a lot easier to paint as compared to magenta and even gold.

Parts that need to be painted black:

Wrist area.

The front-most section of the fists' armor parts.

Interior of the side skirt armors and area beneath the hips.

Knee joints.

Ankles and heels.

The GN Drive's "grippers".

Base of the shield's mount rack.
As you can see, the details behind the shield have already been panel lined using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black). ^^

Painted all the parts black using Gaia Color 022 Semi Gloss Black.

Test fitting the parts to see how the shield's connector would turn out when assembled. ^^

Excessive panel liner paint on the shield is wiped away using cotton swab soaked with enamel thinner.
Simple panel lines are added for the beam swords' handle parts as well.

Comes as clear parts, the beam sword parts would need to be painted with clear orange, a color I don't have actually. ^^;

(Left) To improvise, the parts are painted using orange permanent marker instead. Several layers of paint are added deliberately to completely cover the parts with orange paint.
(Right) After the paint has dried, it's wiped away using cotton swab soaked with paint thinner.

Residue of the orange paint left on the parts is seemingly enough to reflect the color, but it doesn't look strong enough to appeal to me. ^^;

Painted the parts using the same orange marker again, but it's applied very quickly and lightly this time.
Using this method, the color can be given to the parts, but the parts' clear attribute is retained to a certain degree. ^^

Cleaning up on the detailing work of certain parts will be the focus next. ^^
