HGUC Kampfer Part 2

Colorful mines

Starting to work on HGUC Kampfer after the introduction in the previous posting. ^^

Unfortunately for Kampfer, all of the photos taken during the actual detailing work were lost due to the problem with my portable hard disk as mentioned in December last year. It was the same issue which affected the review on Real Grade 1/144 scale Gundam RX-78-2 featured not too long ago. As a result of that, the same review method used for that RG kit had to be deployed for Kampfer. ^^;

The thin molded line details on the top parts of the chain mine were panel lined using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black), before all the round areas were painted yellow.

Making use of its sharp tip for the much-needed accuracy in the paint work, Gundam Marker Yellow from the Gundam Marker SEED Destiny Vol. 1 set was used instead of the regular flat-tipped type.

The single-layer elevation on the side of each part was panel lined as well.

The elaborate details on the bottom parts were also panel lined using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black), before all the middle sections were painted red.

Given that the dots are larger in size (as compared to those on the top parts), and are protruding slightly on the parts, a normal type Gundam Marker did the job just fine in the red paint's application. ^^

Paint work and detailing applied to the body parts.

The bottom backpack area was painted using Mr. Gundam Color UG09 MS Gray Zeon.
This was just the second time for the paint to be used, after D-Style Patlabor Ingram 1.

The interior of the backpack thrusters and the two vents on top the chest parts were painted using Mr. Color 109 Character Yellow.

As with all of the kit's thrusters, multiple layers of yellow paint were needed to cover up the dark gray base color. The details were done using normal panel liner after the paint was left to dry for a couple of days.

Minor panel lining on the exterior of thruster nozzles.

Border sections between the top and rear body parts were painted black using normal marker to emphasize the gaps' existence.

Elaborate molded line details on the neck part were panel lined using a combination of normal panel liner and
Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black).

Will move on to even more yellow paint application inside thruster nozzles with the leg parts in the next posting. ^^
