Transformers Masterpiece Streak Part 7 [Final]

Compact champion

More action poses from Takara Tomy's Transformers Masterpiece MP-18 Streak after Part 5, and the previous posting to kick off this final part of the review series. ^^

Since he's capable of so many action poses, it's hard to imagine the reason Streak was given a 2 for his courage, as seen on his character card in Part 1. ^^;

Since they were featured back in Part 2, here are United Rodimus Prime, and Alternity Megatron Blade Silver again to compare with Streak's robot mode:

In vehicle mode.

In robot mode.

While his vehicle mode is eveidently of the same size as Rodimus Prime, and Megatron, Streak in robot mode appears to be bigger. ^^ The biggest contributing factor to that size discrepancy is the way Streak's legs transform I think. Technically, Streak's legs are formed from just the expansion of the back half of his vehicle mode, but they give the figure 2/3 of its height. ^^ The design seems simple, and it does give Streak a large hollow space behind either leg, but it works effectively for Streak's robot mode display, and it helps the figure to scale appropriately to MP-10 Convoy as well. ^^

Then again, winning the "height contest" against Rodimus Prime, and Megatron is a really minor part of Streak's overall attraction. ^^ It's a great Transformers figure that is well designed in all aspects in my opinion. Its vehicle mode is sleek, and is a realistic replica of an actual sport car: Nissan Fairlady 280Z-T, so it can certainly appeal to old-school sport car fans; ^^ The transformation design is fairly straightforward, but well engineered, especially that of the legs; The robot mode is nicely proportioned, well detailed, and it represents a modernized, but still accurate realization of Streak's character design as seen in the original anime. ^^ And of course, that reinterpretation of Streak's design also incorporates great articulation features comparable with, if not better than Transformers figures of today's standards. ^^ All in all, despite its size, it's definitely a masterpiece design in the Transformers series. ^^

I prefer Streak in his vehicle mode for its sleek appearance to be revealed in full. ^^

Then again, having Disperser Rifle mounted on top the car is a great reminder that it's more than just a sport car model. ^^
