Transformers: Generations Fall Of Cybertron Deluxe Class Sideswipe Part 4

Hollow neck, empty chest

More images of Takara Tomy's Transformers: Generations Fall of Cybertron TG-10 Deluxe Class Sideswipe in robot mode after going through its transformation sequence in the previous posting. ^^

I mentioned in Part 2 that a closer look at Sideswipe's robot mode might change my preference for its vehicle mode, but that's not going to happen I think. ^^;

Even though I like the design of the large front section of the car being retained as Sideswipe's chest, it exposes the hollowness of the robot mode's other components after transformation, with the chest area being the most obvious part - you can see through Sideswipe's body from its top view effortlessly. ^^; Looking at the transformation, the hollow design is understandable, as the supposed cockpit area of the vehicle mode is meant to store the folded legs and head, so when the two sets of components are folded out in this robot mode, there's very little the protruding chest, thin abdomen piece and collapsed back can do to hide the giant gap. ^^; It's a limitation in the physical design of the toy I supposed.

The thin, hollow legs are not helping with Sideswipe's look as well. ^^; I've seen too many Transformers with hollow spaces in their limbs to know that Sideswipe is not an exception in this regard, and I can understand the legs have to be thin for them to fit inside their designated space beneath the vehicle mode as mentioned just now, but just like the chest area, they are still very unpleasant-looking. ^^;

All in all, in terms of display, I definitely prefer Sideswipe to be in his vehicle mode. ^^

An introduction of the figure's articulation design next. ^^
